DO NOT:
- Eat OR drink anything (including water) for eight (8) hours before your appointment
- Smoke for at least 12 hours before surgery. Preferably, stop smoking as soon as possible the day before surgery
- Drive a vehicle or operate any machinery for 24 hours after anesthesia
- Wear lipstick, makeup, or nail polish the day of your surgery
DO:
- Have a responsible adult accompany you to your appointment, remain at the office during your appointment and drive you home afterwards
- Wear loose-fitting clothing, a shirt with sleeves that can be rolled past your elbow, and comfortable, low-heeled footwear
- Remove contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures at the time of surgery
- Notify the office if you have a cold, sore throat, stomach or bowel upset, or any other illness
- Check with Dr. Davies prior to the day of your surgery regarding any routine oral medications you take
